Hunters building real-world field skills

Course Overview

Move beyond the shooting bench and prepare for real-world hunting conditions. In the field, game animals rarely offer a second chance, and the terrain seldom provides a flat surface. This private course is curated specifically for the hunter who demands absolute confidence in their shot placement under real-world conditions. This curriculum bridges the gap between raw shooting skill and practical field application.

Our primary objective is to teach you how to build a shooting platform anywhere, using a blend of cutting-edge engineering and time-tested tradition. You will master two of the most effective field-support systems available today – the modern tripod and the classic safari sticks.

Throughout the training session, our emphasis is on physical efficiency and economy of motion. We recognize that a heavy heart rate and physical exhaustion are the enemies of precision. You will learn to deploy your gear silently, navigate the geometry of your body to lock down your position, and maintain flawless trigger control under time constraints.

By the end of this private session, you will possess the specialized skills and confidence to adapt to any terrain. You will leave equipped to make swift, stable, and ethically sound shots on game animals at distances out to 200 yards, ensuring your investment in your hunting excursion translates into a clean, successful harvest.

Course Curriculum

  1. 01Support System Fundamentals: Master the mechanical advantages and design differences of Arca-rail tripods and classic African safari sticks.
  2. 02Ergonomic Field Efficiency: Learn low-impact deployment methods to set up your shooting platform silently and quickly without unnecessary physical strain.
  3. 03Advanced Positional Stability: Build stable shooting positions from the standing and kneeling configurations using your body's natural geometry.
  4. 04Live-Fire Field Application: Conduct real-time target acquisition and engagement drills on reactive targets from 50 out to 200 yards.
  5. 05Module 1: Anatomy of Stability — Introduction to modern tripods, Arca-rail systems, and traditional safari sticks; the physics of stability: managing center of gravity and rifle balance points; adapting traditional rifle stocks to tactical tripod heads via the Hog Saddle.
  6. 06Module 2: Stealth Deployment Dynamics — Safe rifle handling while managing secondary field gear; techniques for completely silent setups in dense brush or open savanna; efficiency drills: transitioning seamlessly from hiking to an anchored shooting stance.
  7. 07Module 3: Positional Mastery (Standing & Kneeling) — The Standing Tripod: locking an Arca chassis or clamped stock into the tripod head to maximize height and mobility; The Kneeling Safari Stick: dropping your center of gravity using multiple tripods for rapid, high-stability shots; The Standing Safari Stick: walk back method for quick deployment on the classic two-legged safari sticks; leveraging natural terrain and body mechanics to steady your crosshairs.
  8. 08Module 4: Live-Fire Application (Out to 200 Yards) — Confirming zeros and identifying point-of-impact variations when shooting from field rests; positional live-fire drills at varying realistic distances; final field evaluation course: engaging targets up to 200 yards under simulated timed scenarios.
